Web site Dedicate to the Charismatic BMW 02.

While the brand new 3-Series is the sixth generation of cars to carry the 3-tag, the car that started it all was the 02 of the late 1960s and early '70s.

At that time, BMW needed to expand into new niche markets, and a range of light but powerful compact two-door cars was seen as the way to go.

Powerful and agile, the "02" cars soon built up a huge following and set new standards for small cars. They were the weapon of choice for many enthusiastic drivers and competed with great success in touring car races in many countries.

The site is still under going improvements. You'll find Cars for Sale, Parts For Sale, Car of the Month, Technical Informations, Downloads, Event Calendars, Reports, History & much, much more - Enjoy.

As you may have been aware, the BMW ’02 Register used to have a group email type, thingy provided by Smartgroups. Unfortunately Smartgroups has closed down and seemed to have been hijacked by spammers, plus it wasn’t very good for sharing photos or web links or documents!

The upshot of all this is that we have found a place called "Jiglu" (formally Mailspaces) , see http://bmw02.jiglu.com/, which is bigger, better and more funky. Of course www.bmw2002.co.uk still remains as the leading source on Events, News, Cars of the Month, Cars For Sale, Parts For Sale, Buying Guides, Technical Information, Downloads and 02 History and much more. What we want Jiglu to become is a handy forum, for ’02 news, questions and answers, problem solving, parts exchange and generally a resource for us to update on all things 02 in an easy, dynamic way.

So what do you need to do? Well just register as a member of the group by going to http://bmw02.jiglu.com/ (and of course book-marking it as a favourite), you don’t need to have an 02 to join. Then you can access and provide:
         New discussion themes
         Photos of cars and events (well cars at events, no pictures of everyone sat round a table eating food and looking smug please!)
         Ad-hoc “knowledge entries” (interesting documents and web resources about ‘02s and maybe other classic BMW’s).
         Interesting web links
and best of all you will be able to choose various ways, and frequency, of receiving this information, either via the ‘space’ or via e-mail.
There will be a few hours between registering and being able to participate as a member of the site as we want to try to avoid spammers, we can also block people who abuse the system; just like the government!

And one of the most convenient things is that you can post a new message on the forum simply by emailing bmw02@jiglu.com.
